SAMBHAVNA KI KHOJ

Sambhavna Ki Khoj

Goal

“Sambhavna Ki Khoj” is dedicated to preventing the transfer of minors, aged 16-18 and accused of heinous crimes, from juvenile facilities to adult prisons. The initiative aims to reform, rehabilitate, and reintegrate (3Rs) of these children into society, in alignment with child rights laws in India. This project recognizes the crucial role of childhood experiences in shaping future behavior and advocates for targeted interventions within a Critical Lifetime Span (CLTS) to support reformation.

Statement of Challenge

Current practices often compromise the principles of the 3Rs by transferring youth to adult prisons upon turning 21. This punitive approach risks turning them into lifelong offenders instead of contributing members of society. “Sambhavna Ki Khoj” seeks to address this gap by providing comprehensive reformation opportunities until age 21, allowing for the possibility of early release if the child shows significant progress.
